Baptismal font of stone from the 16th century listed and illustrated in BALaT KIK-IRPA [https://balat.kikirpa.be/object/10064445] [accessed 24 March 2026]: "fonts baptismaux [...] pierre calcaire [...] gothique [...] hauteur: 107 cm [...] Date: 1501 - 1600". {NB: the basin appears hexagonal but the pedestal base octagonal].
A communication to BSI from Pol Herman (e-mail of 13 February 2026) informs: "Buissenal, église Saint-Antoine l'Ermite. In the 13th century, the Abbey of Saint-Martin in Tournai held the right to appoint the parish priest. It is said that the stone church dated from the 14th century. Rebuilt in the mid-16th century in the Gothic style, the church, adorned with black brickwork, is believed to date from between 1575 and 1577. 1591-1600: construction of the nave and side chapels, with the exception of the tower, which was built during the second half of the 18th century. Baptismal records start in 1689. Octagonal, limestone, Hainaut-style, 16th century baptismal font. The style of the bottom of the basin could indicate a date late in the 16th century. https://balat.kikirpa.be/object/10064445".
