The Museum notes for this font inform: "Type of object: Above ground baptismal font. Designation and origin: In the entry book VII, page 3, no. 5, the origin is noted as ‘Nienburg-Weser’ Nienburg/Weser is the district town of the district of the same name and an independent municipality in Lower Saxony, Germany. Location today: Museum Nienburg/Weser, Lapidarium, Leinstraße 4, D-31582 Nienburg [...] Inv. Nr. Museum Nienburg 2001/0309, entrance to the collection before 1910. Date: Probably 14th century. Stone, sandstone. Baptismal font made from one stone. Cup-shaped dome, rim decorated with palmette frieze, centre section with vertical sharp-edged ribbing, lower section worked as a standing ring in the form of a twisted string bead. Mounted on a circular, newly made concrete base. There is a vertical opening in the base for draining the basin, diameter approx. 2 cm. The baptismal font is not set. The baptismal font is in several pieces, but almost complete. Reassembled and
completed with restoration mortar ‘RS-Steinmasse’ from Schmalstieg GmbH, Schulze Delitzsch-Straße 19, D-30938 Burgwedel. No lid"
