Font Notes:
Baptismal font described and illustrated in the Museum entry: Inv. Nr. Museum Nienburg 2001/0306, entrance to the collection before 1910: "Stone; sandstone. Cup and foot made from one stone. Cup-shaped bowl, base clearly set off and round, tapering slightly towards the bottom. The upper third of the bowl is decorated with a circumferential scale frieze, which is clearly separated from the lower part by a narrow ring profile. The centre and lower third of the bowl are decorated with vertical ribbing, consisting of a total of 68 sharp-edged triangular ribs. There is no plinth. To drain the basin, there is a vertical opening in the base, diameter approx. 5 cm, and a horizontal opening close to the base in the wall, diameter approx. 2 cm.
The baptismal font is not set. The baptismal font is mounted on a circular, newly made concrete base. The baptismal font consists of several pieces, 30% of the stone substance is missing. Reassembled and completed with restoration mortar ‘RS-Steinmasse’ from Schmalstieg GmbH, Schulze-Delitzsch-Straße 19, D-30938 Burgwedel [...] No lid.
