Zimmermann (1954) reports a 13th-century basalt font of the “Rheinische Gruppe” moved to Neukirchen an der Sürst. The entry for this church in the German Wikipedia [https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Margareta_(Neukirchen)] mentions a baptismal font probably of the 12th century in it: "Inneren aufgestellte Taufstein stammt vermutlich aus dem 12. Jahrhundert." A 12th-century Romanesque baptismal font is also noted in the Katholiche Kirchengemeinde St. Martin Rheinbach entry for this church: "Das älteste Stück in der Kirche ist ein romanischer Taufstein, der dem Aussehen nach auf das 12. Jhd. datiert werden könnte."
A communication to BSI from Pol Herman (e-mail of 25 January 2026) informs: "Queckenberg. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queckenberg. 13th c. basalt font of the “Rheinische Gruppe”, as defined by Zimmermann. Zimmermann writes that the font has been moved to Neukirchen an der Sürst.
A second old information, about the church of Neukirchen, says : A second baptismal font, also Romanesque, which lay behind a hedge in the cemetery in Queckenberg for many years, was brought to Neukirchen in 1897 and placed in the parish garden. I suppose this font is lost.
Neukirchen-an-der Sürst. Above text hints to the fact that there is a first Romanesque baptismal font at Neukirchen. Paul Clemen gives some information about this font. I do not remember where I found the picture of this font. https://www.katholische-kirche-rheinbach.de/kirchen-einrichtungen/kirchen/st-margareta-neukirchen/index.html Das älteste Stück in der Kirche ist ein romanischer Taufstein, der dem Aussehen nach auf das 12.
