Baptismal font of the 16th century listed and illustrated in BALaT KIK-IRPA [https://balat.kikirpa.be/object/27447] [accessed 19 February 2026]: "doopvont [...] steen [...] Date: 1501 - 1600 [...] hoogte: 103 cm".
A communication to BSI from Pol Herman (e-mail of 18 January 2026) informs: "https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sint-Theodarduskerk_(Bogaarden). 1215 : Boomgaarden, 1223 : Bongardes, 1124 : Bomgardes, 1435 : Bogaerde, Bongaerde. The domain was part of the inheritance of Gertrude of Nivelles (626-659) and was ceded by her to the Abbey of Nivelles. The settlement is believed to date back to the 800s. 1223: Saint-Denis-en-Broqueroie Abbey acquired all tithe rights from Cambron Abbey. Romanesque tower built of greenish local rubble stone, dating back to the 11th century. It was probably originally used for defensive purposes. 1495: Father Jan Sterckmans is mentioned. West portal added in 1750. In 1838, the old church was demolished. The old tower was raised in 1840 with a brick section. Baptismal records start in 1667.
