The entry for this church in the German Wikipedia [https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Gertrud_(Schuld)] [accessed 16 February 2026] reports and illustrates a baptismal font made of basalt in the 13th century; the inscribed font cover was made of copper in 1963: "Das Taufbecken aus Basalt ist aus dem 13. Jahrhundert erhalten. Der Kupferdeckel mit der Aufschrift „Wasser der Taufe – Flut der Reinigung – Heiliges Geschöpf – Bad der Wiedergeburt – Strom der Gnade – Quelle des Lebens“ wurde 1963 geschaffen."
