Baptismal font made listed in Drake (2002) as a variant of the Bentheim sandstone fonts. The entry for this church in the German Wikipedia [https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Großwolder_Kirche] [accessed 10 February 2026] reports a baptismal font in this church; it is made of Bentheim sandstone and dating from the early 13th century, obviously from the previous building; it consists of a cylindrical basin decorated with a frieze of tendrils and animal figures, and rests on a four-lion base: "Der Taufstein aus Bentheimer Sandstein aus dem frühen 13. Jahrhundert stammt offensichtlich aus dem Vorgängerbau. Das zylindrische Becken ist mit einem Fries aus Ranken und Tiergestalten versehen und ruht auf vier Löwenfüßen."
A communication to BSi from Pol Herman, who brought the font to our attention (e-mail of 10 February 2026), noted: "Very untypical Bentheimer-type font."
