Noted in Matthias Wagner's Die ersten Spuren des Christentums an der Ahr, in the Kreisverwaltung Aherweiler [https://heimatjahrbuch.kreis-ahrweiler.de/die-ersten-spuren-des-christentums/] [accessed 5 February 2026], as the Jupiter Column, whose base was used as a baptismal font in the Nierendorf chapel. It is now in the State Museum in Trier, a good illustration of which appeared as the cover image for September in the 1955 Eifel Calendar: "Ein klarer Beweis für die dortige Tätigkeit der Römer ist die Jupitersäule, deren Sockel in der Kapelle zu Nierendorf als Taufstein benutzt wurde; er befindet sich heute im Landesmuseum in Trier, eine gute Abbildung ist im Eifelkalender 1955 als Kopfbild zum Monat September." Listed and illustrated in the Epigraphic Database Hedelberg [HD-Nr: HD080050] [https://edh.ub.uni-heidelberg.de/edh/inschrift/HD080050] [accessed 5 February 2026] as a "Votive inscription from Grafschaft (Germania inferior)" on a pillar dedicated to Jupiter, and dated "101 AD – 300 AD"; year of find: before 1899 [...] present location: Bonn, Rhein.
