A communication to BSI from Pol Herman (e-mail of 29 December 2025) informs: "https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%89glise_Saint-Andr%C3%A9_de_Velroux 1100 : Velrois; Velrode, Welleroux. The Roman villa of Velroux was built from scratch around the mid-1st century BC and remained occupied until the end of the 4th century. An initial place of worship (chapel) was built in the 12th century. Its square tower, reinforced at the corners and fortified, once closed at ground level, still retains its arrow slits. Built in the Romanesque style, it was constructed of sandstone and limestone rubble. Originally located in the parish of Fexhe-le-Haut-Clocher, the village was endowed with a parish church and baptismal font around 1270-1273. The tomb stone of Arnold de Velroux, dating from 1270, is located in the church. The village and the castle were burned down in 1328, after the Battle of Nierbonne (Erbonne). The tower was remodeled around 1550. A plaque bearing the coats of arms of the Wihogne and Glimes families commemorates the restoration. The rest of the church was rebuilt in the Neoclassical style in 1836. Baptismal records from 1657 onwards.
