A communication to BSI from Pol Herman (email of 8 December 2025) informs: "Ottonis curtem 1189. Octuncurt 1213. The first mention of the village dates from 1189 and uses the Latin form Ottonis curtem. The first mention of Attenhoven in Flemish language dates from 1262. The patronage of the church rested with the Saint Lambert Chapter in Liège. In 1363, the chapter received income from the Saint Gregory altar in the church of Attenhoven. In 1546, the following altars had been added: Our Lady and Saint Martin, Saint Catherine, the Holy Trinity, and Saint Nicholas. In 1559, there was a beautiful wooden tabernacle (domus lignea, satis ornata). The choir, made of tuff stone, dates from the sixteenth century. In 1581, the village was pillaged by soldiers, and all the church's ornaments were stolen. The parish church was mentioned in 1608, when a restoration and renovation campaign was underway on the existing single-nave church. In 1615, the church was re-consecrated and dedicated to St. Peter's. Until 1650, Pastor Jan Backx carried out significant renovations on the single-nave church. In 1723, the building was enlarged. Around 1770, the church was extensively renovated, with only the choir and sacristy of the former church remaining. It was reconsecrated in 1772. In 1862, the church walls were raised, and around 1890, the building was enlarged again. Baptismal records begin in 1693. The baptismal font dates from the 18th century. https://balat.kikirpa.be/object/2395".
