Baptismal font listed and illustrated in BALaT KIK-IRPA [https://balat.kikirpa.be/object/10107202] [accessed 11 January 2026]: "fonts baptismaux [...] Date: 1581 - 1581 [...] hauteur: 118 cm; largeur: 73 cm; profondeur: 73 cm".
A communication to BSI from Pol Herman (e-mail of 9 January 2026) informs: "First mentioned in 965, the village was under the jurisdiction of the allodial court of Liège. Located in the present-day cemetery, the former church is recorded as early as the mid-13th century as being administered by the Val-Saint-Lambert Abbey. It was served by a resident priest from the second half of the 16th century. In the 18th century, and perhaps even as early as the 17th century, the right of presentation was transferred by the Abbot of Val-Saint-Lambert to the local lord. Fraiture became an independent parish in the 19th century. The brick funerary chapel in the cemetery is the remnant of the old church, which was maintained until the end of the 19th century. The date 1847 appearing above the lintel of the portal could be the date of its renovation. The current church is now located in the centre of the village and was built around 1892-1893. Octagonal, limestone, Mosan baptismal font with four heads. Inscription : 1581. I cannot find the stone mason’s mark mentioned in literature. Looks composite. Is it ? The heads are rather roughly sculpted, the column is decorated by a chevron which suggests some luxury. https://balat.kikirpa.be/object/10107202"
