The present font in this church is modern, mid-19th century. It is listed and illustrated in BALaT KIK-IRPA [https://balat.kikirpa.be/object/10003838] [accessed 11 January 2026]. [NB: we have no information on the font of the medieval church here].
A communication to BSI from Pol Herman (e-mail of 10 January 2026) informs: "Fraiteur, Freteur, Freture, Fraiture-sur-Amblève. Manuscript from the abbey of Stavelot-Malmedy, written by Abbot Walleran delle Heid, relating to the years 1343 and 1410: 1394, on July 17th, the churchwardens of Fretueur received from us… Collection of charters of the Abbey of Stavelot: church of Fraiture-Comblain mentioned in 1497 and 1551.
1762: enlargement or reconstruction (chronogram). The old church measured 8.5 x 6 meters. The parish was established in April 1834. The old church was too small and a new building was consecrated in 1857. Baptismal registers from 1610 onwards. Present font is 19th century, no trace of older one. https://balat.kikirpa.be/object/10003838"
