Cueva de Valdebodres

An entry for this object by Pedro Lozano Huerta (13 June 2022) in Facebook [https://www.facebook.com/groups/romanicodelnorte/posts/10159845270969801/] [accessed 27 November 2025] notes and illustrates a composite or altered stoup formerly at the disappeared church of Cueva de Valdebodres, where it served as baptismal font. It consists of a roughly-hemispherical basin of stone, the sides of which alternated concave and convex ribs, which suggests a date in the Gothic period or later; the basin upper rim shows evidence of drilled holes to house the metal anchorings of a font cover, which would be consistent with its re-use as baptismal font for a time. The present base is an unrelated block of stone.
