Font Notes:
Information relayed from Pedro Lozano Huerta by Mikel Unanue (e-mail of 31 October 2025) notes and illustrates a baptismal font located now in the Ermita de Santa Teresa in Santa Cruz de Mena but said to be originally from the 18th-century re-building of what had originally bee the church of the monastery of San Julián; the re-built church was mostly destroyed in the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) bombings, and remains of it ended up in a number of places [cf. infra]: "Ermita de Sta Teresa- Sta Cruz de Mena- Burgos- Pila Bautismal. The font consists of a roughly-hemispherical basin decorated with convex ribbing on the outside and convex ribs on the inside, raised on a squat round base part of which appears to have been semi-buried in the modern flooring.
