A communication to BSI from Pol Herman (e-mail of 17 November 2025) informs of the many vicissitudes of this church between its original 960 AD date and its final destruction in a 2014 fire. With regards to its fonts, PH notes: "In 1615, the baptismal font was given a new lead lining, made by Jeroen vander Mylen, a plumber of the city of Oudenaarde. Philips van Wynsberghe fitted a new lid. This may indicate that the baptismal font was damaged"; PH provides the reference to a 19th-century font that appears listed as "Marble baptismal font with copper lid, 1828 (?)" in BALaT KIK-IRPA [https://balat.kikirpa.be/object/30168] and in the Onroerend Erfgoed [https://inventaris.onroerenderfgoed.be/erfgoedobjecten/81393], a font that was destroyed in the 2014 fire that destroyed the whole church. [NB: we have no information on the medieval font(s) of this church].
