Jahrhundert – er ist also noch älter als Ihre Kirche". An article by Gehrard Schmidt in the Neue Zeitung edition of 18 November 2022, Seit 300 Jahren ein Zuhause für Gläubige [https://www.np-coburg.de/inhalt.hafenpreppach-seit-300-jahren-ein-zuhause-fuer-glaeubige.75fd6197-d05a-44d5-befe-f6eb46e580b7.html] [accessed 17 November 2025] reports a baptismal font in the middle off the nave; the font was previously from St. James' Church; made between 1620 and 1650 from local Burgsandstein sandstone: "Im Zentrum des Gotteshauses steht der Taufstein, der wohl zuvor in der Sankt Jakobskirche stand. Er wurde zwischen 1620 und 1650 aus heimischen Burgsandstein angefertigt." The font is octagonal at basin and stem, on a square base, with simple moulding decorations. It has and octagonal wooden cover, painted and gilded, with a Latin-cross finial.
