Font Notes:
The entry for this church in the German Wikipedia [https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Johannes_Baptista_(Reinsdorf)] [accessed 17 November 2025] reports a large nine-sided late-Gothic baptismal font made of sandstone: "In der Kirche steht eine große neuneckige spätgotische Sandsteintaufe." The font consists of a nine-sided basin with plain vertical sides; the underbowl has graded moulding; the pedestal base has a nine-sided moulding atop but is round below it. There is no cover in use at present and there is a metal insert in the basin; also, a metal baptismal dish in in use atop. There is no cover present vut the upper rim of the stone basin shows evidence of metal anchoring plugs in it from a former cover. The entry for this village in Reportagereisen [https://www.reportagereisen.de/reinsdorf_02.html] [accessed 17 November 2025] includes a confusing reference to the restoration in the 1960s of the original Romanesque font into the church after a period in which it had been replaced by a wooden object in 1892: "Als 1892 der alte romanische Taufstein aus dem Chorraum der Kirche verbannt wurde, kam ein seine Stelle ein Holzgestell. Als es in den 60er Jahren diesen Jahrhunderts zu einer letzten gründlichen Renovierung kam, wurde der Taufstein jedoch aus seinem Sakristeiexil zurückgeholt und an seinen Platz gestellt." The description of the font as "romanische Taufstein" is obviously incorrect.
