Font Notes:
There are two fonts in this church: a baptismal of the 1824 re-building of the church, now the font in use, and an earlier one, of the16th-century; the earlier font is the basin recovered from its use as flower pot in the churchyard; it appears to be octagonal with broad trefoiled arches on the sides; the inner sides of the basin are carved in a concave ribbing pattern; it is now raised on a square replacement base and located next to the later font of 1824. A set of digital photographs in Wikimedia show the church details and the two fonts inside [https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Interior_of_St._Petri_und_Pauli_Reinsdorf_(Thüringen)] [accessed 16 November 2025]
A communication to BSI from Pol Herman (e-mail of 16 November 2025) informs: "https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Petri_und_Pauli_(Reinsdorf)
Old (16th c?) and newer baptismal font (appr. 1824). The old baptismal font was used as flower pot. It is described in an article “Ein mittelalterlicher Taufstein aus Reinsdorf. Kreis Eckartsberga“.
