The church is listed and illustrated in the Enciclopedia del románico [https://www.romanicodigital.com/sites/default/files/pdfs/files/burgos_SAN_VICENTE_DE_VILLAMEZÁN.pdf] [accessed 16 November 2025] as originally Romanesque but much modified in the 16th century; the font is not mentioned in it, which may ne an indication that it is considered of the later period. The font consists of a roughly-hemispherical basin decorated with a double roll moulding at the upper rim, otherwise plain; raised on a base with a pronounced roll moulding at the top, and a concave ribbed pattern all around the sides below, which is indicative of the later period. It has damage evident in several areas, a large one with loss of stone at the upper rim whwre a metal anchoring for the cover must have split the stone. The present cover is roumnd, flat and plain; modern.
