Baptismal font listed in Mackeprang (1941, 2003) in his section of imported limestone and sandstone imported fonts (III. Østlig Import: Gotland).
Noted and illustrated in Danmarks Kirker [https://nmdanmarkskirkerprod.blob.core.windows.net/files/Aarhus_4157-4178.pdf] [accessed 15 November 2025] which describes the font as an unusual work, made of Gotland limestone possibly from 1350-1400, but partly re-cut, probably in the later part of the 1500s; The DK entry cites entries in Mackeprang and Reutersvärd, each relating this font to a different group ["fabeldyrsfonten", »Paradisfontenes«] and giving a number of related fonts between Randers, Holstein and even Western Pomerania; most of the decoration on the basin was re-carved; the bse was altered , now a fluted cylindrical stem, and the square lower base also replaced; it is raised on a modern block of granite. The baptismal dish is 18th-century. The entry for this church in VoreskirkerDK [https://www.voreskirker.dk/om-kirkerne/vrads-kirke] [accessed 15 November 2025] reports that the church had the baptismal font of Gotland limestone with a trefoil arch decoration from 1350-1400, but was "modernised" by re-cutting around 1500. Another font of a later date (1767) appears to be also in this church.
