Miraflores

The present baptismal font in this church consists of an octagonal basin raised on an octagonal pedestal stem and a wider octagonal lower base, also octagonal; the whole font is decorated chiefly with tracery: seven sides of the basin are decorated with blank arcades of trefoiled arches, the eighth side bears a large dove with open wings, the symbol of the Holy Ghost; the underbowl has graded mouldings on it; the sides of the stem has a trefoiled arch and niche on each side; the lower base is moulded. The whole font is made of beige stone with marble inlays. The octagonal font cover is also made of stone, the same ar the font itself; it is a low pyramid with the same marble inlays as the font itseld; it has a Latin-dross finial, also of stone. The font probably dates to the same date as the present church, the 1930s, but may have replaced an earlier font of ther previous church on this site, the former "Iglesia Parroquial de San Miguel de Miraflores".
