Svenstrup nr. Norborg / Schwenstrup / Svenstrup på Als

Baptismal font listed in Mackeprang (1941) as part of the 'Sydligge gruppe', a subgroup in his Sønderjydske Rankefonte; made of granite and painted; at the time the lower base was partly buried in the flooring [NB: Mackeprang (ibid) suggests the similairty of this font to that at Notmak, but the square lower base is actually similar to the one at Felsted, which has also the heads at the corners]. Baptismal font of coarse granite consisting of a roughly hemispherical basin decorated with a broad vine all around, raised on a moulded round stem and a square lower base decorated with [animal?] heads at the corners and some sort of relief on the sides, now too eroded/damaged for identification.. No cover present.
