The baptismal font, illustrated in a digital photograph taken 8 October 2023 by Podstawko in Wikipedia [https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Mediaeval_baptismal_font_in_the_Altar_Church_in_Toormore,_County_Cork.jpg] [accessed 27 July 2025] is captioned "Mediaeval baptismal font in the Altar Church in Toormore, County Cork"; the font consists of an octagonal basin raised on a a pedestal base and lower base of the same shape; the basin sides are decorated with a blind arcade of cinquefoil arch-heads, three per panel, to a total of twenty-four; the underbowl chamfer has graded mouldings; the octagonal stem is plain; the lower base, also octagonal, is decorated with graded mouldings. Judging by this photograph alone, the font has a wear and a patina of age that suggest a date in the late-Gothic period which clashes with the age of the church itself. Is it modern? Was it from another church? There is no cover present.
