Baptismal font illustrated in a 24 September 1854 watercolour by Oswald Maqueron in the Archives et Bibliothèque patrimoniale d’Abbeville, Hal. 21 [https://patrimoine.abbeville.fr/collection/item/33046-a-chapelle-de-l-ecce-homo-a-bellefontaine-aquarelle-d-oswald-macqueron-d-apres-nature-24-septembre-1854-b-fonts-baptismaux-dans-l-eglise-de-bellifontaine-aquarelle-d-oswald-macqueron-d-apres-nature-24-septembre-1854-c-statue-en-bois-peint-dans-l-eglise-de-bellifontaine-aquarelle-d-oswald-macqueron-d-apres-nature-24-septembre-1854] [accessed 10 February 2025]; the font appears octagonal, a basin with graded moulded sides, a tall pedestal upper base decorated with trefoiled arches or windows, and a moulded octagonal-to-square lower base; a font cover is included in the image, flat octagonal base with four raised scroll ribs and a Latin cross finial [cf. ImagesArea]. [NB: the 1858 watercolour shows the basin of the font in good form, whereas the illustration in Soyez shows the upper part of the basin damaged, missing a good portion of the upper end -- We have no information on the present whereabouts of this font].
