Font Notes:
A font and cover inside a large ornate baldachin appears on the frontispice of Van Drival's Etude sur les fonts baptismaux (1858); the illustration is captioned: "FONTS BAPTISMAUX D'OISY-LE-VERGER (Pas-de-Calais)"; the font appears to consists of a roughly hemispherical basin decorated with a torus-scotia combination below the upper rim, and a ribbed or gadrooned pattern all around the sides and underbowl; it shows only a partial view of the pedestal base, round and moulded; atop the font is shown a tall complex font cover of three 'roofed' volumes and a finial.
