Baptismal font noted in the parish web site [http://www.ref-gemeinde-larrelt.de/unsere-gebäude/kirche/] [accessed 18 January 2025], described as an octagonal font made of granite [cf. infra] in 1420 [cf. infra]; its former carved and painted wooden cover is now in the Ostfriesischen Landesmuseum in Emden ["Der achteckige Taufstein aus Granit von 1420 hatte einen geschnitzten und bemalten hölzernen Deckel, der jetzt in Ostfriesischen Landesmuseum in Emden zu besichtigen ist.]" The font consists of an octagonal basin decorated with four human heads set at 90-degree angles on the upper basin sides, a flat moulding betwen them; on a octagonal-to-square pedestal base with a round moulding atop and stops below to make it square. A communication to BSI from Pol Herman notes: "The font of Larrelt (Germany) is a Mosan renaissance font from Belgium, with a French inscription." [NB: Drake lists and illustrates a Bentheimer font in Larrelt but we are unable to locate it]
