The entry for the church ruins in the Kildare Federation of Local History Groups (KFLHG) [https://kildarelocalhistory.ie/kill/history-of-kill/history-of-johnstown/] [accessed 13 January 2025] notes: "The old graveyard at Johnstown contains a number of fragments, including the octagonal base of a medieval baptismal font". The fragment is illustrated in Castlehunter's blog erntry for 14 June 2013 [https://irelandinruins.blogspot.com/2013/06/old-johnstown-church-co-kildare.html] [accessed 13 January 2025]: it appears to be part of the lower stem of the base of a baptismal font, octagonal with lower stops that make it square at the bottom; it has a very broad drain hole in the centre, which would have connected it to the drain hole in the basin. The same fragment is noted and illustrated in Patrick Comeford [https://www.patrickcomerford.com/2016_01_30_archive.html] [accessed 13 January 2025]: "octagonal base of a mediaeval baptismal font within the walls of the ruined church".
