Font Notes:
A baptismal font moved from its original parish church in Le Favril to Maredsous, documented in Christiane Soliamont and R.-Ferdinand Poswick (2013) as being originally from the parish church in Le Favril (Nord, France) and having been moved to the Château-Ferme de Maredsous, in Belgium. The font conaists of a polygonal [octagonal?] basin decorated with a torus-scotia-torus band all around the upper end, and a rounded underbowl; the sides are inscribed with the date 1672 in which the font and new church in Le Favril were constructed; it is raised on a pedestal base, also polygonal. The source [cf. supra] appears to indicate that the font was installed outside the Château-Ferme as an ornament.
