informs that the Romanesque granite baptismal font is the oldest piece of equipment, dating back to the granite ashlar church at the end of the 12th century. Its heavy round cupola rests on a square base, which has a semicircular arch made of twisted bead on each side. There is a bead ring on the shaft. Pastor Quedens wrote about the baptismal font in 1754: “On the left side of the altar stands the baptismal font, which replaced a previous very poor font hewn out of a common field stone…” When the “fine” marble font was installed in 1754, the granite font was banished to the vestibule and later even painted over with white oil paint. In 1952, the venerable font was cleaned and installed below the pulpit. The marble font of 1752 is now [June 2023] in the vestibule of the church.
