No entry found for this site in Mackeprang (1941). Baptismal font bearing some traces of black paint listed and illustrated in Danmarks Kirker [http://danmarkskirker.natmus.dk/uploads/tx_tcchurchsearch/Vejle_1633-1654.pdf] [accessed 18 December 2024]: "The only thing contemporary with the building is the simple Romanesque granite font. A South German baptismal dish from c. 1550 only came to the church after 1700. [...] an incised slab from c. 1275-1300 commemorating Peter Keller is especially worth noting for its quality and its rare motif. The rich pilgrim’s equipment with the scallop on the travel bag, the pilgrim’s staff and the palm branch should very probably be understood to mean that he was a professional pilgrim who had visited among other places Santiago de Compostela and Jerusalem. Since the scallop could be a general badge for pilgrims, it is however also possible that he was a prosperous pilgrim from the parish who had been in Jerusalem and was now buried in his pilgrim’s costume. The material is Gotland limestone. But we cannot say whether Peter Keller’s image was carved at the quarries on Gotland, in North Germany or possibly in Denmark".
