Listed in Mackeprang as a baptismal font of granite in the Sønderjydske Rankefonte group. This font consists of a tub-shaped basin decorated with a large vine all around the sides, raised on a round-to-square pedestal base decorated with a broad roll moulding atop, and foliage/plant/trees on the sides. The entry for this church in LEX Danmarks Nationalleksikon [https://lex.dk/Starup_Kirke] [accessed 16 December 2024] reports a second font, a wooden one of the mid 18th century (1742) in the shape of a floating angel ["en svævende engel"] hangs by the south wall. The interior of the church was repainted in 1918-19. A. Wilckens painted the motifs designed by Joakim Skovgaard. The paintings in the apse were modeled after the Romanesque paintings in Hviding Kirke.
