Baptismal font consisting of a roughly cylindrical basin raised on a round pedestal base; there is a rope moulding decorating the upper rim of the basin, a roll moulding on the lower end, anothr moilding, much damaged to discern the type at the bottom of the underbowl; the base is decorated with a pronounced roll mouding. The stone of the font appears to be one of volcanic origin. The style of the stoup would fit the Romanesque font designs of but it is quite likely from the later period of the founding of the Franciscan church itself, the mid-to-late 16th century. No cover present. [cf. BSI entry Santiago Atitlan No. 2 for the holy-water stoup in this church]
