Font Notes:
Two head fragments of an original medieval font survived and were built into the external walls of the tower. A communication to BSI from Pol Herman (e-mail of 9 September 2024) notes: "Presumably in the 11th-12th century, construction of a first Romanesque church. In the 14th century, construction of the Gothic church. The tower was initially freestanding. In 1651, destruction and arson by the Lorraines, in which thirty inhabitants were killed and the archives were lost. The damage to the tower was limited. In 1845, demolition of the old, too small and worn out church. In 1845-46, construction of a new neoclassical church with preservation of the old tower. In the outer wall of the tower, two heads of a Romanesque, Mosan, limestone font are integrated."
