The entry for this church in the Enciclopedia del románico [https://www.romanicodigital.com/sites/default/files/pdfs/files/alava_APELLÁNIZ__APINAIZ.pdf] [accessed 24 June 2024] notes the late-13th century Romanesque church but mentions no font in it. The present font probably replaced the medieval one in the 17th/18th-century modifications to this church; it consists of a round moulded basin raised on a baluster--type pedestal nase, also round and moulded. Metal two-stage dome cover with ball-and-cross finial; modern.
