A baptismal font consisting of a roughly hemispherical basin decorated with ball motifs on some of the exterior sides, as part of the outer surface is unfinished/undecorated, as if meant to go against a wall or corner; large damage showing at the upper rim; that damaged area and the metal staple showing on the front side were the anchoring spots fior a font cover that is now lacking; the basin may have belonged to the medieval monastery church which is known to have served also as parish church until the 19th century. Records of baptism in this church date back to 1567; the last recorded is of 20 November 1973. The parochial functions of the convent church ceased on 2 July 1874. The extensive study of the convent and its history by Micaela J. Portilla [Barria-Ayer y hoy de un monasterio-Micaela Portlla, pdf] [accessed 22 June 2024] mentions a baptismal font in the conventual-cum-parochial church as now lost ["la pila bautismal, perdida hoy", p. 57]
