Font Notes:
Three fragments of the old baptismal font built into the external wall of the apse are noted and illustrated in BALaT KIK-IRPA [https://balat.kikirpa.be/object/10056410] [accessed 28 May 2024]: "3 fragments des anciens fonts baptismaux [...] roman [...] Date: 1101 - 1200 [...] Emplacement: l'assise du chevet". A communication to BSI from Pol Herman (e-mail of 25 May 2024) informs: "Yesterday, I visited the (closed) church of Escanaffles, to check the current state of the fragments of the mid-12th c. Tournai-type font. They were difficult to find because of the lush shrubs around the church. After some wriggling between the branches, here are pictures. Two fragments are from the same side of the basin. They are better preserved than those of Lessines and of Baardegem."
