A "Rapport sur l’exercice 1937-1938" by M.C. Bourgaouilt in the Bulletin des Commissions Royales d'Art et d'Archéologie, Commission Royales des Monument et des Sites, 1938 (juillet-décembre) informs of an early-16th century baptismal font originally from the chapel(?) of Saint-Michel de Jalhay was located at the time in the Musée de Verviers ["Jalhay. Eglise. The present font at Jalhay is listed and illustrated in BALaT KIK-IRPA [https://balat.kikirpa.be/object/10105586] [accessed 19 May 2024]: "fonts baptismaux [...] Date: 1701 - 1800 [...]
Pol Herman adds: "The baptismal font is not mentioned in KIK-IRPA, but is still at the museum. I received a picture by Caroline Henry.
The font is not octagonal, therefore it could be pre-gothic or post-gothic. The heads are crudely sculpted. I would guess that the font is late-Romanesque, 13th century."
