The roughly cylindrical tub has a moulded uppr rim below which is an arcade of round arches on short columns; the arches are populated with figures and some are clearly meant to be scenes; comparing them to the font at Alsfeld one could try to identify the Baptism of Christ, where one figure's right hand rises closer to the other's head; the female beding down could represent the Samaritan at the Well, as in Alsfeld; the single figure holding a tall Latin cross could be Christ...]; this font may be from the same or a related workshop that produced the font at Alsfeld [cf. BSI entry]
