Baptismal font described and illustrated in Dietrich Korthals' Die Marienkirche zu Wallenbrück [https://www.yumpu.com/de/document/read/5917441/m-arienkirche-wallenbruck-evangelische-kirchengemeinde-spenge] [accessed 27 April 2024]. The font is dated 1688 by an inscription on the basin side; it consists of a hexagonal basin decorated with cherub heads linked by a garland, being held up by a figure [a child?] kneeling on a hexagonal lower base; the whole brightly painted. Low cover with moulded sides and a cup-like finial.
A communication to BSI from Pol Herman (e-mail of 21 February 2024) includes an article by Karin Wessler in the NW Kreis Herford edition of 2 January 2012 which informs that the 1688 font replaced and earlier one of the 11th century [cf. BSI entry for Wallenbrück No. 1 for details on that font]
