Er stammt aus der ersten Harener Pfarrkirche von ca. 1379 und ist das älteste Kunstwerk unserer Kirche. Er entstand bereits um 1200. Dieses spätromanische Taufbecken gehört zur Stilrichtung des Bentheimer Typs. Aus Anlass des 100-jährigen Kirchweihjubiläums im Jahre 2011 erhielt der Taufbrunnen einen neuen Deckel, der vom Künstler Paul Brandenburg bewusst aus modernem Material gestaltet wurde."

Noted and illustrated in ETWAH [https://etwah.de/haren/kirche] [accessed 24 March 2024] as a baptismal font in the Bentheim style from ca. 1200; it was originally in the medieval church of Haren; its present cover was made by artist Paul Brandenburg in 2011 ["Der Taufbrunnen besteht aus Sandstein und wurde diagonal zum Ambo aufgestellt. Er stammt aus der ersten Harener Pfarrkirche von ca. 1379 und ist das älteste Kunstwerk unserer Kirche. Er entstand bereits um 1200. Dieses spätromanische Taufbecken gehört zur Stilrichtung des Bentheimer Typs. A columnar white marble holy-water stoup located at the west end of the nave is modern.
