The entry for this church in Carolina's Collection of Castles, Churches & Curiosities [http://www.hic-sunt-dracones.de/CCC2/nikolauskirche_bierstadt.html] [accessed 11 March 2024] reports and illustrates a Romanesque font in it. The entry for this church in Living in Wiesbaden [https://www.wiesbaden.de/en/living-in-wiesbaden/churches-religion/churches/protestant-churches-east/evangelische-kirche-bierstadt.php] [accessed 11 March 2024] notes a "Romanesque baptismal font" and a "Lintel from the time of building with scratched drawings symbolising paradise" in it.
A communication to BSI from Pol Herman (e-mail of 26 October 2023) quotes comments by the parish priest, Andreas Friede-Majewski, on the church and font, specifically some of the changes made in the 1731 renovation of the church by the then parish priest ,Johann Adam Moebus ["Ein besonders eifriger Pfarrer"], which included relegating the old font to use as cattle trough.
