Scene Description: Source caption: "Onze-Lieve-Vrouw-Kerk of Kapel - Bosstraat - Zoutleeuw - Vlaams-Brabant - Vlaanderen - Belgïë. Een voormalige kapel van een klooster (1559). Ook Onze Lieve Vrouw van de Zeven Weeën genoemd. Dit gotisch, overwegend 16de-eeuwse kerkje (1510-1559) bestaat uit één beuk, een korte dwarsbeuk en een rechthoekig koor. De muren geven een afwisseling van baksteen en natuursteen. Boven het schip rijst een eenvoudige dakruiter uit en het koor heeft een steil zadeldak. Het boogveld boven de deur is verfraaid met een lobmotief. Daarboven zien we een hardstenen kruisbeeld en het jaartal 1559. Het kerkje is de voormalige kapel van het Klooster van de Zeven Weeën en werd verbouwd in 1735 en 1765."

Church Notes: former chapel of a 16thC monastery, Klooster van de Zeven Weeën; renovated 1735-1765
Holy-water stoup listed and illustrated in BALaT KIK-IRPA [https://balat.kikirpa.be/object/27143] [accessed 10 March 2024]: "wijwatervat, hadsteen [...] hoogte: 103 cm [...] Date: 1501 - 1510". The stoup consists of an octagonal besis decorated with four human heads set at 90-degree angles, a scotia between them; the octagonal pedestal base has parallel mouldings all the way to the four stops that make the lower base square. A communication to BSI from Pol Herman (e-mail of 25 October 2024) regarding the baptismal font at Pellworm Neue Kirche notes: "this Mosan font looks very much like the one at Bos in Belgium that is dated 1501-1510."
