Noted in St. Crucis Kirche Pellworm - Neue Kirche [https://www.kirche-pellworm.com/st-crucis] [accessed 9 March 2024] as a baptismal font made of Belgian Namur marble [i.e., limestone]; the octagonal basin is decorated with four heads and bears the inscribe date 1587; the font was donated to the church by the Seegarden estate; the brass baptismal font is 19th-century ["Der achteckige Taufstein aus Namurer Mamor (Belgien) stammt von 1587 und wurde vom Gut Seegarden gestiftet, das unter der Kanzel einen Begräbniskeller unterhielt. An der Cuppa befinden sich vier derbe Köpfe. Die Messingtaufschale stammt aus dem 19. Jh."] The entry for this church in the German Wikipedia [https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neue_Kirche_(Pellworm)] [accessed 9 March 2024], however, notes that the date inscribed on the font imported from Belgium is a later addition ["Das steinerne Taufbecken ist ein Import aus Belgien [...] Sein Herstellungsdatum lässt sich nicht exakt feststellen, die eingeritzte Jahreszahl 1587 wurde erst nachträglich hinzugefügt"]; it further notes that, according to Reiter's Kirchen am Meer (1994) the material is "Namurer Marmor". The entry for this font in Riechert (2015) notes that the heads are female, that the inscriptions bearing the date 1587 and the names of the donors are highlighted in white paint; the date inscription on the basin side, the donors' names on the base; there are also two shields charged with the arms of the donors, Claws Meinstorp and Voride Meinstorp. Riechert (ibid.) gives the font at St. Annen as cognate.
A communication to BSI from Pol Herman (e-mail of 25 October 2024) notes: "this Mosan font looks very much like the one at Bos in Belgium that is dated 1501-1510."
