Font Notes:
Listed and illustrated in BALaT KIK-IRPA [https://balat.kikirpa.be/object/10078091] [accessed 3 March 2024] as a wall-mounted holy-water stoup made of limestone in the 16th century decorated with human heads: "bénitier [...] tête humaine[ornement] [...] Date: 1501 - 1600 [...] hauteur: 39 cm, largeur: 29 cm, profondeur: 22 cm".
A communication from Pol Herman to BSI [e-mail of 18 October 2025] notes: "About this stoop, it is said (and I find the same hypothesis on other websites)"; one of those [https://www.beljike.be/patrimwin-ne-culturel-do-sud-de-l-beljike-253-comunes-andenne-andene-patrimwin-ne-batumints/] [accessed 19 October 2025}, which states that the font and stoup here are originally from earlier churches demolishe in the 18th century, suggests that the heads here could be those of the generous donor and his wife."
Another communication from Pol Herman to BSI [e-mail of 19 October 2025] adds information about damage inflicted on this stoup: "To complete the records about this stoop: around 1920, the architect René Garant (1894-1973) has written some historical notes about the church. Without mentioning a date, he reports : An act of vandalism was committed against one of these holy water fonts: a thief of paving stones from the church struck it with a pickaxe and shattered it. Fortunately, the pieces were found and they were glued together. I suppose it was the one with the heads. Both stoops form one whole with the limestone column element of the church pillar. They are not separate objects. This is exceptional. The top of both columns are adorned with the typical 4 heads (as found on Mosan baptismal fonts)."
