Baptismal font listed and illustrated in BALaT KIK-IRPA [https://balat.kikirpa.be/object/10114473] [accessed 19 February 2024]: "fonts baptismaux [...] pierre [...] gothique [...] The same source gives the KIK-IRPA code 10114810 for the font cover [not photographed]: "couvercle de fonts baptismaux [...] laiton [...] Date: 1701 - 1800 [...] hauteur: 10 cm". Noted and illustrated in the Bilbiotheca Burdinne [https://bibliotheca.burdinne.be/thematiques/patrimoine-religieux-et-funeraire/fonds-baptismaux/fonds-baptismaux-oteppe] [accessed 19 February 2024] with information from Pol Herman: "Fonts baptismaux - Oteppe [...] Tailleur de pierre inconnu. 16e siècle. H. : 96 cm. A communication to BSI from Pol Herman (e-mail of 18 October 2023) notes: "In the église Saint-Michel stands a unique composite baptismal font [...] [see https://balat.kikirpa.be/object/10114473]. The octagonal column and the typical Mosan-type Gothic base seem older than the dating given by KIK-IRPA (17th century). I would guess early 16th. Above the column, one can see a basin-like bulge, that is said to have been re-sculpted in the 19th century. The object originally was probably a Mosan-type stoop, with 4 heads that have been partially removed? On top of this object is set an ancient tiltable measure (mesure de capacité à tourillons). Geert Verbrugghe, the historian at the INRAP France, specialized in mortars and measures, cannot date it more precisely than medieval."
