Noted and illustrated in Schulin (2021) as a baptismal font of the 14th century 'Gruppe der Kelch-TB' ["Und für die Gruppe der Kelch-TB mit Spitzbogenfries unterhalb des Kupparandes sei auf das TB in der Ev. Kirche zu Laichingen hingewiesen"]. A baptismal font of the Romanesque period here is noted in Bürgerstiftung Laichinger Alb [https://www.buergerstiftung-laichinger-alb.de/ortsgeschichte/stadtrundgang-laichingen/st-alban-kirche] [accessed 11 February 2024] ["Der wuchtige Taufstein stammt noch aus romanischer Zeit"]. The font consists of a tub-shaped basin decorated with a pointed arch-head pattern on the basin that suggests a later period [cf. supra], raised on a cylindrical pedestal base decorated with a rope moulding at the upper end; the circular lower base appears modern.
A communication to BSI from Pol Herman (e-mail of 23 September 2023) notes: "The baptismal font [...] resemble[s] late Romanesque / early gothic (13th century?) fonts that can be found in Germany. For example the font at Laichingen. I think that the font of Mortroux is unique in Belgium."
