Listed and illustrated in BALaT KIK-IRPA [tps://balat.kikirpa.be/object/10081620] [accessed 8 February 2024]: "fonts baptismaux [...] cuve datant du XIe ou XIIe siècle, base et fût du XIXe [...] grès[pierre] [...] hauteur: 27 cm largeur: 92 cm". The low-dome shaped font cover is listed and illustrated in BALaT KIK-IRPA [tps://balat.kikirpa.be/object/10081624] [accessed 8 February 2024]: "couvercle de fonts baptismaux [...] cuivre [...] diamètre: 67 cm [...] Date: 1701 - 1710". There were four heads set at 90-degree angles of the basin; one is now missing and the others are too eroded to be identified as either human or animal; the pedestal base is a modern replacement.
A communication to BSI from Pol Herman (e-mail of 20 September 2023) notes: "The baptismal font, of which only the basin survived, has aspects of the Romanesque, Mosan type, carrying 4 roughly carved (or poorly preserved ?) heads. It is however made of local sandstone. Therefore, it could be possible that it was made prior to the production wave of limestone Mosan fonts, that started ca. 1145. Sometimes it is dated 11th century." Herman further notes: "In 1824, a roman votive stone ("four deities stone") was unearthed under the Christian altar. Maybe this was a religious statement that confirmed the victory of Christianisation. This stone is now at the Musée National d'Histoire et d'Art in the city of Luxembourg."
