The entry for this church in the Inventaris Onroerend Erfgoed [https://inventaris.onroerenderfgoed.be/erfgoedobjecten/80558] [accessed 2 February 2024] reports a Gothic object of bluestone from Maasland now used as baptismal font bearing an inscription with the name of Goywart Vyfeyke(n) and the date 1560; it is decorated with four lion heads set at 90-degree angles, and with the Crucifixion scene between them ["Gotisch Maaslands hardstenen, thans als doopvont gebruikt wijwatervat (1560), dat herinnert aan het overlijden van Goywart Vyfeyke(n) in 1560, zie gedateerd herdenkingsopschrift, met vier leeuwekoppen op hoeken en zijde met voorstelling in reliëf van gekruisigde Jezus"]. The entry for this church in the Belgian Wikipedia [https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sint-Martinuskerk_(Houthalen)] [accessed 2 February 2024] mentions a stone vessel made of limestone in 1560 in the baptistery, but refers to it as a holy-water stoup, not a baptismal font ["De doopkapel, onder het kruisribgewelf van de toren, bezit een laat-18e eeuw portiekaltaar en een blauw, arduinen wijwatervat uit 1560"]. Noted and illustrated in BALaT KIK-IRPA [https://balat.kikirpa.be/object/77285] [accessed 2 February 2024]: "wijwatervat [...] hardsteen [...] inscriptie, gesteenhouwd, midden: Memorie.van.Goywart.Vyfeyke(n) ... Bidt.voir.die.zyle.(1560) [...] hoogte: 101 cm [...] Date: 1560 - 1560". Het herdenkingsschrift op de sokkel luidt: "MEMORIE VA(N) GOYWART VYFEYKE(N) DIE STERF OP DE XXVIII TEN DACH MEERT A° L X BIDT VOIR DIE ZYLE (1560)"].
