Baptismal font noted and illustrated in Virtuelles Museum [https://www.virtuelles-museum.com/objekt/die-einrichtung-von-heilig-kreuz-keyenberg/] [accessed 28 Jamuary 2024] as a baptismal font of which the octagonal basin was made of bluestone in the 15th century but has a lining made of copper alloy dated 1733; whereas the base is a modern granite replacement. also octagonal; the font cover ws probably made by Peter Tillmanns, of Erkelenz, in 1915 ["Das achteckige Taufbecken aus Blaustein entstand im 15. Jahrhundert. The same source [cf. supra] has the additional text: "Das Taufbecken erscheint als wuchtige, achteckige, gotische Kelchform und steht mitten in der Taufkapelle. Der Deckel weist sowohl neugotische als auch Jugendstil-Elemente auf"] [NB: not clear whether the text is linked to the description in a 3D model by Frank Maraite [https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/baptistmal-font-keyenberg-3e6669640bc34b30a4b075fdbdde1814?utm_medium=embed&utm_source=website&utm_campaign=share-popup] [accessed 28 January 2024] [NB: according to mR (moderne Regional) edition of 19 October 2022 [https://www.moderne-regional.de/listing/erkelenz-keyenberg-hl-kreuz/] [accessed 28 January 2024] the church was deconsacrated in 2021 and is scheduled for demolition in 2026 ["Erkelenz-Keyenberg, Hl. Kreuz. 2021 profaniert, Abriss geplant für 2026 für Braunkohletagesbau Garzweiler"].
