A news report in the 30 September 2020 edition of SudInfo [https://www.sudinfo.be/art/655285/article/2020-09-30/en-enlevant-une-croix-retrouve-lancienne-cuve-baptismale-de-polleur] [accessed 22 January 2024] informs of the discovery of an ancient baptismal font, dug up in the process of the removal for restoration of a 'croix de carrefour' in the village: "Juste avant le confinement, les ouvriers communaux theutois se sont rendus à Polleur pour retirer la croix qui se trouve au coin de la rue Xhavée et du Vieux Thier, pour la rénovation. Celle-ci était branlante et fixée dans quelque chose, raconte l'historien theutois Paul Bertholet. Lorsqu'ils l'ont dégagée, ils ont retrouvé une cuve baptismale de 68 cm de diamètre, retournée, et dont on ne percevait que l'extérieur." [NB: whether ths object was really a font basin or not, this would not be the first time a font has been re-cycled as the base of a cross].
